WAYNE OTTNEY OBITUARY

Wayne Ervin Ottney
Eaton Rapids

Wayne Ervin Ottney, of Eaton Rapids, passed away February 1, 2017 while on vacation in Jamaica, at the age of 65. Wayne was born in Almonte, Ontario, March 23, 1951 the son of Ervin and Lenore (Belisle) Ottney. He began his career as a driver with SD Solomon, went on to be a Master Diesel Mechanic for Central Transport and retired as a driver out of USF Holland in Jackson, MI. Wayne was a member of the Teamsters Union, loved to fish the Great Lakes, ride his Harley Davidson Limited motorcycle, hunt in Michigan and on the Hole-in-the-Wall Ranch in Kaycee, WY. His favorite hobby was farming and raising the family's herd of Polled Hereford Cattle side by side with his wife and sons. First and foremost, spending time with his family was his greatest joy.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Jeni Ottney; sons, Jason (Megan) Ottney of Eaton Rapids, Nick (Annie) Ottney of Leslie; grandson, Paul Ottney; mother, Lenore Ottney of Eaton Rapids. He was preceded in death by his father; sister, Cindy Delaney; father-in-law, Harry Gallt and mother-in-law, Maxine Gallt.

A celebration of life will be held at 12 pm, Monday February 20, 2017 at the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, 518 S. Main St. Eaton Rapids. The family will receive friends the hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, 5706 Grant Creek Rd. Missoula, Montana 59808.
